English for Personal and Professional Study
Joining this pathway will give you the opportunity to develop your general English skills while addressing more specific personal, professional or academic needs through our target modules.
This route is aimed at students from a range of backgrounds who wish to develop their language skills in order to enhance their career prospects or who simply wish to improve their proficiency to allow them to communicate more effectively in English. The courses run all year round, with various start points throughout the year. See our course dates and fees.
The minimum period of study is four weeks. The length of course you choose will be dependent on your reasons for study and your current level.
You will study for a minimum 20 hours per week: Monday to Friday. Classes are normally scheduled between 09.30am - 3.30pm. You will be expected to do some homework and self-study. A timetable will be provided to you on your first day. For further details see the course description.
The minimum enrolment age is 18.
International students from outside the EU/EAA will require either a Short Term Study Visa or a Tier 4 General Student Visa. More information can be found on the visa guidance page of the main University of Manchester website.
