If you have made an application to The University of Manchester, but do not have the English language requirements for your degree programme, a Pre-sessional course may be appropriate in helping you achieve the level you need.
Our Pre-sessional courses are intensive and academically challenging. They have been designed to help you develop the language and academic skills you need to progress onto your course at The University of Manchester.
We offer 10, 6 and 4 week courses. The length of the course you study on will depend on your current English language level, and the level required for the degree programme you are applying to.
If your School requires you to study on our 10-week course, you can study with us online from your home country.
If your School requires you to study on our 6-week course, you currently have 2 choices:
- study online for 6 weeks;
- study on-campus in Manchester for 6 weeks.
If you have achieved your English language requirements, but would like to develop your academic skills, you currently have 2 choices:
- study online for 4 weeks;
- study on-campus in Manchester for 4 weeks.
Even if you passed the language exams, you can still participate in Pre-sessional courses. It is a good place for you to make new friends and will of course help you take a further step in your English skills.Junjie Wang from China / studying on the online 10-week Pre-sessional course in 2020.
