Applications for our 2018/2019 EAP course will be opening on 1st May 2018.
We require you to demonstrate a minimum level of English Proficiency to study on our full-time English Language courses. You must have a minimum IELTS 4.5 overall, with 4.5 in writing and no less than 4.0 in any other sub-skill (or equivalent at B1 on the CEFR). We also accept TOEFL iBT scores of 32 overall with 12 in writing and no less than 11 in any other sub-skill and 41 in Pearson Test of English.
This course is not suitable for advanced students (C1/C2 on the CEFR or IELTS 7.0 overall or in a subskill).
Information for students studying on a Tier 4 (General) student visa
This is an intensive academic English programme of up to 29 weeks of study. If you are applying for a degree programme at The University of Manchester and intend to progress onto a Pre-sessional course, you will need to apply for a Tier 4 (General) student visa in order to undertake our English for Academic Purposes programme.
If you are coming to study at the University Language Centre on a Tier 4 (General) student visa you must have a UKVI-IELTS test score of 4.0 with minimum 4.0 in each sub-skill (reading, listening, writing and speaking). The test must be taken at a UKVI approved IELTS centre globally.
