English for Academic Purposes

Our full-time English for Academic Purposes programme is designed to prepare you for your future degree, whilst studying in the vibrant culture of The University of Manchester. 

This course is ideal for you if you have a B1-B2 level of English (according to the CEFR) and you are aiming to continue to an undergraduate or postgraduate programme either at the University of Manchester or another university in an English speaking country.

We offer three terms of study from October 2018 to June 2019, which leads nicely into our Pre-sessional courses in the summer.

When does the course run?

The courses run all year round, with various start points throughout the year. See our course dates and fees.

How long is the course?

The minimum period of study is four weeks. The length of course you choose will be dependent on your reasons for study.

What is the class timetable?

You will study for a minimum 20 hours per week: Monday to Friday. Classes are normally scheduled between 09.30am - 3.30pm. You will be expected to do some homework and self-study. A timetable will be provided to you on your first day. For further details see the course description.

What is the minimum enrolment age?

The minimum enrolment age is 18.

Do I need a visa?

International students from outside the EU/EAA will require either a Short Term Study Visa or a Tier 4 General Student Visa. More information can be found on the visa guidance page of the main University of Manchester website.
